Introduction

BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association’s web sites www.lodging.bc.ca, www.camping.bc.ca and www.travel-british-columbia.com are designed to help people find information about travel and vacation experiences in British Columbia.

BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association is a non-profit trade organization representing some 600 motels, motor inns, hotels, resorts, lodges, bed and breakfasts, campgrounds and RV Parks throughout British Columbia. The Association has been effectively representing small and medium sized accommodations since 1944.

Membership in the BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association is voluntary and properties that apply to belong to the Association must agree to abide by the Association’s code of ethics.

BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association does not visit nor inspect members’ businesses but the Association’s code of ethics does require that accommodation members meet and maintain Tourism British Columbia’s Approved Accommodation standards. Therefore, all members listed on our consumer web sites have been inspected by, and approved by, Tourism British Columbia as part of their bi-annual inspection program.

Code of Ethics (Customer Service Guarantee)

As a member of the BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association properties agree:

• To maintain a high degree of cleanliness and to ensure our establishment meets the standards set by Tourism British Columbia for an approved accommodation.
• To provide excellent service and hospitality at all times and operate our business in a professional and courteous manner.
• To exercise truth in all advertising and to advise guests of any services we are unable to provide.
• To adhere to our policy on cancellations and deposit refunds as published.
• To charge reasonable and appropriate rates at all times.
• To offer fair exchange on U.S. currency.
• To handle any complaints promply and fairly.
