It is located at an elevation of 1150 metres (3600 feet) with an average depth of 7.6 metres (25 feet) and a maximum depth of 35 metres (115 feet). Places to See

  • Bridge Lake Provincial Park

Bridge Lake Park is made up of two land parcels. The developed parcel is a popular, small campground located on the south end of Bridge Lake near the community of the same name. A short walking trail skirts the lakeshore. Rainbow trout, lake trout, and burbot are eagerly sought by anglers.

  • Bonaparte Lake and Valley

Located just south of Bridge Lake is the Bonaparte Lake and Plateau. This lake is the dominant lake and river system in the Southern Cariboo offering excellent freshwater fishing. Spend an afternoon fishing here for some of the many rainbow and kokanee trout that are available in vast quantities.

  • Canim Falls

Located at the east end of Canim Lake in Wells Gray Provincial Park. Canim Falls can be reached by following the trail that starts from the logging road that parallels the south side of Canim Lake. Deception Falls and Mahood Falls are other magnificent waterfalls to see in the area.

Things to Do

  • Hiking / Mountain Biking / Skiing / Snowmobiling

Sheridan Lake features over 208 kilometres (130 miles) of mapped and signed trails maintained by the Interlakes Snowmobile Club, the Sheridan Lake Quad Squad and The Friends of Sheridan Lake Society. These trails are suitable for hiking and mountain biking during the warmer months, and for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling during the winter.

  • Fishing

Sheridan Lake is well-known for its trophy fishing, with rainbow trout commonly weighing in at 3 to 5 lbs. The lake produces brook and rainbow trout consistently May through October, and fly fishermen are attracted to the many weed beds and islands. In early May, the community built spawning channels offer educational insights into fish-enhancement projects.
